day last, a quarter section of a fall pippin
iiTown in his garden, which was of most

Mr. Litzinger informed us that the whole
irtpple measured fourteen inches in circum-
iferenee. and weighed a pound and three
ounces ; and that it was but a fair specimen

done perhaps as much as any man living

and purposes sojourning a few days in our
midst. As the Ebensburg Band has been
under his tutorage, and is engaged for the
l air, it 13 said that the Professor will as
sume their leadership ou that occasion.

A good idea. Our enterprising friends,
Lewis Kodgers and Newton I. Roberts.
have erected a goodly number of scats on
the Fair-ground for the accommodation of
spectators. The spot upon which thev
are placed is well selected, and commands
a lull view of everything going on in the
ring. All who take their wives or chil
dren to the Fair should not fail to procure
seats. 1 he prices are liberal.
