commenced when I waa seventeen years old, and
continued until the Fall of IS36, varying in vio
lence, but withoui ever disappearing. During most
of Ibe time, great pari of my fuce w- covered with
the eruption, frequently attended with violent itch
ing; my head swelled at time until it felt aa if it
would burst ihe swcllin was ao grent, that I could
carcely get my lint on. During the long period
thut I wa afflicted with the dieae, I tiaeil a greal
many aj plications, (among them several celebrated
prep itntinns) a wi II a taking inw.iid remedies,
including a number nfbottlea of Steaim'i Panateti.

impn-aible lo enumeiate all the medicine I ued.
I waa also under the cure of two of the most dis
tinguished physician of this city, but without re
ceiving rni'ch benefit, and I despaired of ever being
cured. In the full of 1831, the disease tit the time
being very violent, I commenced uainrt the Rote
Ointment, (prrpuced by Vaughan 6t Davis.) In
a ft w a plications the violent itching ceased, the
swellii g slated, the eruption begin to disappear,
and before I hud uaed a jr the di-rase waa railiielT
cuted. Il has now been nearly a yar and a half
aince, and there ia not a vestige of the disease re
maining, except Ihe Bear from the deep pits formed
by the di.-ease. It is impossible for me to descrilte
in a certificate the aeverily of the diseafe and my
suffi ring, but ( will be pie iscd to give a fuller ac
connt to any person wanting further satisfaction,
who will ell on me. At the lime I commenced
using (lie R. e. Ointment I would have given hurt
died of do Ian to be rid of the disease. Since u
sing it, I have recommended it lo several ersons.
