Teachers of Toboyne township all at
tended the teachers' institute at New
Bloomfield. Dr. H. W. Woods, of
Blaine, was called to tlie residence of
J. R. Outshall. near I'nion school
house, on account of Mr. Gutshall's
ton Harry having an attack of typhoid
fever early Tuesday morning. The
doctor attempted to make the trip
in his automohile, but the deep fog
prevailing just before daylight caused
the lights on his automobile to show
the road but a short distance ahead, |

the bridge. The doctor was then taken
to his destination in H. N. Hart's
buggy while some of the neighbors
"jacked" up the automobile and got

THE REV. JOHN O. JONES

Aiinvillo, Pa., Dec. s.—The Rev.
John O. Jones, who has been appoint-;
!ed the pastor of the Otterbein United
Brethren Church at Montclare. twenty
miles west of Philadelphia, is a senior
at Lebanon Valley College. He is the
son of the Rev. M. 11. Jones, who was
pastor of the United Brethren Church
at Penbrook several years ago. The
Rev. John Jones is a member of all the
religious societies at the college and
expects to enter a theological semi
nary as soon as his work is completed
at Lebanon Valley. Next week he in
tends to hold revival at his church,
i-rominent clergy of the United
j Brethren Church will make addresses.

tanks to be used in connection with
the erection ot' the light plant at the
new sohoolhouse arrived at the local
freight station last Saturday and was
left lay on the platform. During the
heavy storm which prevailed that
night the tank was blown uf*on the
tracks and a night passenger train
hit it with the result that nothing re
mained the next morning but pieces.
