The anniversary meetings at New York

attendance was more than usual. First
and foremost was the Jubilee Anniversary
of the American Bible Society. Jubilee
sermoulSunday evening by Rev. Dr. Ferris.
Fiftieth Annual Meeting on Thursday.
Receipts from all sources $042,625. Issues
yi the last five years, ($ 6 ,555,231,) exceed
those of the first thirty-three years of the
Society, ($6,347,140) by 107,091 volumes.
Dr. Spring moved the first resolution,
thanking God that he, having been present
at the inception of the Society, was per
mitted to see the Jubilee occasion. Ad
dresses were delivered by several distin
guished persons. The test anniversary of
the American Tract Society took place on
Wednesday, Bishop McDwaine in the
chair. Receipts of the year $437,679; of
which $124,327 were in donations. Gratu
itous distributions, $59,953. Volumes print
ed, 720,080; publications, 7,898,000. Mm :

of the Union. American Seamen's Friend
the Society, $01,759. Chaplains at foreign
ports increased and condition of seamen
improved. Within six years 1,702 libra

Wednesday, President Woolsey in the
