J olt B—Evening.
Extract from the London Times received
by the Kangaroo : Our advices from America, of the
.last dates, are very favorable to thecan-?e of the Southern
Confederacy. General McClellan h»B been driven from
’'the White House, and the White House burned. .No.,
mention Is made of tbe capture of President Lincoln or
family; but we suppose he made good hie flight across
the river to Harrisburg, the capital of Philadelphia.-
Governor Andrew, with his colored brigade, was entirely
defeated jn his attack upon Charleston, by Gen. Hunter*
Confederate notes circulate freely in Northern cities,
especially in Philadelphia. The largo Clothing Clouae of
Chords Stokes, under the ” Continental,” in Philadel
phia, is closed on account of the large number of its cus
tomers in the army killed.

“ I have used, your Carminative Balsam in my family,
and havefound it a sure and safe cure for Hysenterv aud
Bowel Complaints. I consider it au invaiuable medicine
that no family should be without.”
Revl JML CHANDLVR, of Bangkok, Biam:
k When the Cholera raged so : fearfully around us last
year, we bad but a email quantity of your Carminative
Balsam ; enough, however, to prove its efficiency in
that awful disease.: The wife of »ne of our Siamese com
positors was taken with Cholera, and every effort which
the saliva doctors could make to break up the disease
was unavailing, and the woman appeared near her enl.
As a last resort, we gave your Carminative, and it acted
like a charm, and the woman was cured., I gave the
CamdnaCve in another caee, when the person bad been
purging all night, and was fast drawing near her end,
but was saved by its use. When given.at the first ap

immediately.”
Mr. JASPER POULSON, of Holmeshurgj Oliio, writes
■ «* My son was last fall taken sick with CHOLERA

worse; be was cramped .severely, and nothing would
slay on hie Btomaeb, until I bad used your Carminative

used it - with like success.”
Hr. E. G. SCHRACK, of Oarnpo Saco, Cal., writes
u Mrs. Schrack and myself have just recovered from
severe attacks of Vomiting, Purging, and Cramps in the
Limbs.: She was first taken, and I subdue! her sufferings
by the use of your Carminative Balaam. The satno

soothed. I resortf<i.to the different remedies laid down
in the Mattria-Hfedica, but without success. I tii?n took
tbne tablespMQjfula of your Carminative, which I threw
up tight away, but Immediately repeated the dose, afeer
which I had no longer any symptoms of the disease, and
continued recovering my btrougth until I h*d regained
my usual good health. I believe the sufferings of both
of us might bave'Veeumitigated if I had used the Car-,
