The deceased wee a worthy member of the Al. E.
Church in this place. Site was the Wietlin of that flat
tering disease—Consumption. She had been visiting
her fnends in Delaware, hoping that a change of climate
and associations would be 'beneficial toper health. In
company with her husband, she returned to this village
on Saturday eve before her death. and returned to tarry
but a night. She had been waiting for months pre
vious to her departure, in expectation of the event, and
was not, therefore, surprised, as too many are, by the
amide,' comin g O r tho Messenger. Beside, situ was
both ready and toiling to die. An the hour approached,
elle was not only undismayed, but confident and rejoic
ing. She conversed freely of death and the future, and
appeared calm and collected in the dying hour, "like
one that both down to pleasant dreams." Site desired
that a portion of Scripture he rend, and prayer offered.
She bade tier weeping friends farewell, invited them to
meet her in h r far-off home, commended her spirit to
