PAPAL REVOLCTIOX E TIDED.
Rome, November 3. Eveninor.
During tlio past few days General
Garnbaltli concentrated his forces
around his former position nt Monte

Cortc Ciispi and Sevrtrdent, supporters
of his cause, and forming n deputation
from the revolutionary society, begged
of him to withdraw, stating that the
Italian troops had crossed the frontier.
Garibaldi refused, saying "he did riot
value his lite in such a cause, and that
a soldier ought not to count tho num
ber of his enemies." iSignori Corte
replied: "A General should." The
deputation thcu left tho camp.
This morning Garibaldi, with about'
threo thousand of his command, hav
ing two guns, moved for Tivoli, to
join Xieatero, one of his oflicers. In
the meantime, the I upal Zouaves, who
were advancing, had taken Tivoli at
tho point of the bayonet. Garibaldi's
forco did not know this, and were
marching towards the sumo point.
When they arrived at Milona they
were surprised by seven bnttalions of
tlio I apitl army, supported by twelve
guns, who attacked them in the tront

fight was renewed and continued for
over an hour, when tho Garibaldian
retreat became nil utter rout.
It is believed hero that General
Garibaldi had ninn hundred men kill
ed, ono thousand prisoners taken, nnd
a great many wounded. Menotti Gari

The loss of lho Papal f.ircc was not
so heavy. Arrived nt the Italian iron
