    'sing us
a song"'
by George Hirko

The man known as
Billy Joel has been
singing us songs for a
long time now. In the
early 70*s he released
Cold Sprins Harbor
his first solo album.
It didn't have any
songs of acclaim.
Also, it was recorded
at the wrong speed
which caused parts of
the album to be
"Chipmunk” in quality.
This could have made
him give up, but he
hung in there and his
next album, Piano Man
was a hit.
Well, he’s got 13
albums under his belt
now and a tour of the
East Coast underway.
There seems to be no
stopping the
impressive Mr. Joel.
He hasn’t toured since
he was in Russia back
in 'B7. If you think
this has left him
rusty, you are off by
a longshot.
The arena is sold
out. The lights begin
to go out in a
systematic pattern.
Next, steam begins to
rise from behind the
stage. This is
followed by a dark,
ominous melody that
you might hear at an
operetta. Suddenly,
the lighting comes
back on and Joel and
his band are on stage
belting out Storm
Front the title cut of
the new album.
The songs are many

hour performance.
Classics such as
Captain Jack, Miami
2017, and It's Still
Rock-n-Roll are heard
through the immense
speakers. Of course,
newer hits like We
Didn* t Start The Fire
and I Go To Extremes
were also performed.
Joel even attempted
to break into other
forms of music,
specifically rap, with
his rap rendition of
The Night Before
Christmas. There was
a pleasant mix of talk
and music throughout
the night. Three
encores were present,
Piano Man being the
finale. This was an
excellent concert for
old and new fans
alike.

We could get right
to the point and
simply say, "Hey, go
out there and get
involved! Join a club!
Be a part of it all!"
Maybe we could try
to entice you with all
kinds of various
gimmicks or promise
you wealth and power
beyond your wildest
imagination. But, why
bother?
If you enjoy
sitting alone in your
room instead of taking
the opportunity to
meet interesting new
friends, feel free to
do so. If studying
for that next test in
Basket Weaving 101 is
your style, please
weave away. Whatever
you do, DO NOT take
the opportunity gain
new experiences, meet
new people, or even
(GASP!!!) have some
fun! After all, there
are too few basket
weavers as it is.
Of course, if there
is the slight chance
that you think you
might enjoy something
fun, then please read
on. . .
