Matty Goukas - B+ :
Matty should get the Coach
of the Year considering all
of the bull - - he has gone
through during the season
and even before it (namely
the criticism of the Malone
trade). He has made so many
lineup changes during the
season due to the
continuous barrage of
injuries that have plagued
the 76ers and has kept the
76ers with a winning and
somewhat
record.
Although I wonder
about him. When you see him
on the sidelines during the
game, he has such a blank
expression on his face that
you wonder whether he's
thinking about what is for
dinner; whether Charles
Barkley farted on the bench
and the smell has hit his
nasal passages; whether
"Two Ton Tessy" chucked him
a moon or whether he is
just constipated. In any
event, he has done a pretty
respectable
good job coaching the 76ers
this season. How much he
can take is up for grabs.
One thing is for sure: his
hair was not filled with
gray hairs last season (or
at least as many). A couple
glasses of Grand Marnier
should pick him up.
Harold Katz - F---
If there ever was a person
who should be nominated for
"Reject of the Year",
Harold Katz, the owner of
the 76ers is that person.
He resented paying Moses
Malone the $2.2 million
dollars a year from the
beginning. Katz felt that
Moses was fat (which he was
during a majority of his
career with the 76ers).
Yet this factor did
not inhibit his playing
ability at all. In fact,
while with the 76er s,
Malone led the team in
rebounding and scoring
every year (taking away the
9 year string held by

categories).
Malone did a lot for the
team and for the city of
Philadelphia. Be not only
brought success and a
championship to a starving
city but he brought it hope
and self respect. He wanted
to bring a fast break
basketball team to
Philadelphia. He felt that
he could not do this unless
he got rid of Malone.
