Directory, formal dance
comprise SGA projects
by Lisa Ragazzi
The Student Government Asso
ciation has been working over
time since Fall Term. Our first
project .was the Student Direc
tory to benefit the entire student
body in numerous ways. First.of
all, it provides the students with a
handy listing of the students on
campus along with their term
classification, major, home
address and phone, and local
address and phone. With this
information at their fingertips,
the students may find the direc
tory useful for finding someone to
commute to and from campus
with, someone in their major who
would like to sell their books, or
even' a tutor. The directory will
be kept uptodate by providing an
addition and correction sheet
eachlerm.
I wbiild publically like to thank
the following people for their
time and Cooperation in the publi
cation of the directory: John
Balas, Jeanne Beam, Joe
Broschak, Wally Dias, Cindi
Fagan, Michael Ford, Don
Green, Paul Huffman, Scott
Kramer, Joanne Kulp, Sandy
McCoy, Joanne Moerschbacher,
Kim Mulligan, Sue Novak, Kathy
Peters, Faith Petrovich and Ken
Schugardt. I would also like to
thank Mr. Cerulla and the
Don't forget the cherry!
Security Staff for their coopera
tion during the printing of the
directory.
The next major SGA sponsored
event was a Semi-Formal Chfist
maS'Dinner-Dance on December
14 at Stefanisko’s Fiesta Room on
Route 309 in Hazleton. The Semi
began at 7:30 pm and featured a
homestyle dinner. Fallowing the
dinner, music was provided from
9:00 pm ’til 1:00 am by the FAN
TASTIC “TNT.” Also included
was an unlimited soda bar. The
meal, the dancing and all the
soda you could drink was in
cluded in the low price of $7.00.
Also, still in the planning
stages, is the idea to extend the
Laurel Mall bus run to Highacres
during Winter Term to aid those
students who do not have their
own means of transportation and
those who dread driving in the
terrible Hazleton weather. A trial
run will be conducted in early
January to see how many
students will respond to the idea.
If there is a large turnout, the
idea will probably be carried on
throughout Winter Term. So plan
now to ride the bus, and leave the
driving to us!!
Well I guess that’s about it for
now for the SGA Calendar. I hope
that your term is as exciting as
ours will be!
