Ski Club Travels To Vermont
Highacres Ski Club ven
tured to the northern mountains
of Sugarbush, Vermont for five
days of tough skiing, party
ing and relaxing.
Everyone enjoyed just
being in the presence of such
immense beauty. The-alti
tude was high, the air was brisk
and clean and the scenery was
phenominal.
Living quarters were set
right on the side of the moun
tain. The Highacres club was
broken up into three condo
miniums according to living
style. There was a quiet group
that acted normal, a normal
group that was rowdy and a rowdy
group that was actually too
wasted to move most of the
time. (However, the latter group
were the first ones awake every
morning.)
There were no .human

no great danger to Highacres,
Hazleton, or the world. They
are simply members of the
Fraternal Order Of
of Highacres and were attempt
ing to dispense some insanity
to their fellow campus luna
tics.
The Fraternal Order Of
LunaticjS (F.0.0.L.5.) was es
tablished in October, 1976
and was founded for the pur
pose of bringing together High
acres students and staff mem
bers who believe in having fun
by acting in any manner that
pleases them, as long as those
actions do not infringe upon
other people's considerations
in any way.
Now in its fifth month of
operation, after sponsering
events such as Be Kind To
Earthworm Week and National
Earthworm Day and participating
in The Highacres Comeriety
Night, the F.0.0.L.S is expand
ing. Requests to formulate
branch chapters have come from
the University Park, Wilkes-
Barre, and Scranton Campuses of
Penn State and local high schools.

fatalities, butthere was one
expensive ski that didn't fare
too well on the mountain's
roughest slope.
The snowfall was sufficient
but not fantastic. On the last »
day of the trip, northern Vermont
received seven inches of fresh
fallen flakes. This skier did
not exercise any of the ben
eficial aspects of the snow.
Instead, the snow set the stage
for a 450 mile drive of slip-
pery northern highway.
The trip was quite a success
and almost every partici
pant spoke of returning next
year for a little relaxing,
a lot of skiing and of course,
a bit of partying.
The trip was arranged by
the club president Vaughn
Nattress with the help of
faculty advisor Dr. Allan
Price.
