WITHOUT PLANS FOR BIG CONCERTS IN NEW GYM By-John Sengle At the present time the Student Union Board has no plans for any large scale con certs according to Ray Kissner, President of the S.U.B. Kis sner attributed this mainly to the limited operating budget he has to work with. To get an established group would probably cost about $l,OOO to $2,000 and in Kissner's words, "We just don’t have that kind of money to work with." Although the S.U.B. has no plans at the present time to schedule large-scale con certs in the new Ilighacres Physical Education Building, Dr. William David, Campus Di rector, said, "Yes, having con certs in the new gym of the sit-down type is definitely possible." Kennedy assasination, Mark Lane, spoke to a crowd of 700 people in the Physical Education Building on Wednesday night, January 19. The lecture was sponsored by The Student Affairs Cultural Series and The Highacres Club Advisory Council. Lane spoke for three hours and his remarks were well received by the crowd, as was apparent by the almost 300 signatures that appeared on a mailgram to Thomas O'Neill, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, asking for a reinvestigation of the Kennedy and King assasinations. "I think that through this investigation," said Lane, "we will learn whether or not our elected of ficials really run the country." His first part, which was the most lengthy portion of his speech, dealt with Lane's opinions of the investigation of the F. 8.1., the C.1.A., and the Warren Commission into the Kennedy assasination. "I believe that the Warren Commission was appointed for the purpose of assuring the Americah people that a conspiracy never occurred- for proving that Oswald was the lone assasin," said Lane.
