The Highacres Collegian, December 20,1976 -2 ELECTI OH REFORMS HEEDED The Besidence nail Council election of November 11 has been proven unconstitutional and illegal. Whether or not this election was run illegally because of ignorance of set rules and laws or because of deceitful purposes, we do not know and in fact, may never know. Frankly, dis covering why this election was run unlawfully will accomplish little. Certain steps, however, must be taken to protect against election shenanigans occuring again at Highacres. We urge the Highacres Student Government Association to set up an Election Commission to govern, control, and regulate all campus student elections. In addition the members of this Commission would have to be required to become well-versed in standard election procedures and in the specifics of the student organization's constitutions. Thus, control of the campusis student elections wouid be given to a committee that is neither interested in "fixing" the elections for personal gain nor ignorant in election laws. yirgina wool! jack ken ***** S william carlos "the real purpose of books is to trap the mind into doing its own thinkifig"' • Christopher mor! kuirt vonnegut ©: herman 1 °Q , arthur rimbai l\X S. the ALL ITEJW jg CITY BOOK STORE 31.
