The Highacres Collegian, September 26, 1975 - 4 by Ruth Marin The first meeting of the Residence Hall Council for the 1975-76 academic year was held September 15 in the men's se / cond floor project room. The meeting proved quite fruitful, lasting well over an hour. During this time, vari ous suggestions and complaints were voiced. All of the offi cers of RHC (Julie Lalo, Pres ident; John Kelly, Vice Presi dent; Susie Prey, Secretary; and Alissa Dußois, Treasurer) were present, as were Mr. Ev eritt Binns (Assistant to the Dean of Student Affairs) and Mir. Karl Krone (head of Pood and Housing) • Some of the'complaints pertained to cleaning days and the vending machines. Students with complex stereo systems and large rugs complained about the moving of these objects for cleaning days. It was suggest ed that these people come to an agreement with the maids to de cide what must be moved and what could stay as is. As for the vending machines, the com plaints were that they are emp ty on weekends and that the so da machine does not have enough variety. Hr. Krone agreed t 6 see that the machines stay stocked and that the soda ma- chines have a bigger variety of soda. Some residents have found that ping-pong and TV don't mix well. RHC is trying to figure out a way to keep the sound of the games from interfering with the TV viewers. It was suggest ed that a partition be used, but the partitions aren't sound proof so another solution will have to be found. At the meeting was algo discussed the Halloween costume party, to be held on the night of October 29, in the dorm TV room. The party will include a dance and, horror movie, and prizes for the best costumes. Jobs Available The following part time jobs are available off campus. Bahr also holds school soccer records for career points and assists. ituden Association is currently in the process of making appropria tions to campus clubs and or-' ganizations. The inital appropriation from the University was $4,350, but a windfall of $2,400 was later received for a total of $6,750. This figure is still $550 short of last year's $7,300 so economy measures are necessary. The allocations to the various clubs on campus are posted on bulletin boards around campus. If there are any questions concerning the allocations, please contact the SGA office in the Commons. In an attempt to ease the Monday-Wednesday-Friday parking problem, there has been a Car Pool Committee formed. The Committee is at present com piling a list of interested commuting students, their add resses and telephone numbers, and their arrival and departure times on campus. The Committee feels that with this informa- * tion available, there will be an increase in the number of car pools, which could result in financial savings for the students involved and less ag ravation for all concerned. The SGA is interested in the opinions of freshmen re garding their Orientation Week experience. Any comments or criticisms will be appreciated. Please leave your suggestions overament
