    OSGA OFFICERS ELECTED
Robert Fisher, outgoing president of the
Pottsville Center 3GA, was elected 1961-1962
president oi the Organization of Student Gov
ernment Associations at the annual spring
meeting last weekend.
Our newly elected officers are Paul Miller,
Hazleton Campus, vice president; Theresa
Sardo, Scranton Center, corresponding secre
tary; and Faith Szuhaj, Altoona campus, trea
surer.
Hearings on workshop reports from the March
meeting and two general sessions were held
during the two-day meeting.
All the workshop reports were accepted in
the first general session, after being dis
cussed in the afternoon hearings. Some of
the points recommended in the reports in
clude a constitution and by-laws for the for
mation of the Keystone Society which will
provide recognition for the "all-round stu
dent citizen" at each campus or center.
The Service Key-Certificate workshop pro
posed awards to be given to those students
who are active in student government. Plans
to facilitate communications within the Com
monwealth Campus System were made by the
Communications workshop.
Also, it was decided to hold the annual
summer conference at University Park, Aug.
25 to 27.
In other business of the first general ses
sion, Robert G. Bernreuter, special assist
ant to the president for student affairs,
presented trophies to the winners of the
Commonwealth Campus tournaments.
Our Hazleton Campus Alumni Association con
tinues its progress since its founding over
three years ago.
Each year, a number of students are gradu
ated from the Hazleton Campus in the Assoc
iate Degree program. In addition, a number
of students go to the Main Campus or to some
other college to complete their Baccalaureate
Degree Program. Both groups fondly remember
their days spent atlhighacres. They write to
us and keep their progress and whereabouts
known through the Association.
The purpose of the Association is as follows:
to continue old friendships and promote new
ones among its members; to further the wel
fare of its members by, among other services,
keeping them informed about job opportunities;
and to supply members with news by means of
ALUMNI NEWS
alumni association bulletins. Social
activities are encouraged.
Each spring our Hazleton Campus Alumni
Association plans an ambitious, festive
occasion to bring together all our Alumni.
This year we will have a catered dinner
and dance held in conjunction with the An
nual Convocation of our Highacres Campus.
Not only will this gala event bring them
together,but it will give us an opportu
nity to meet all of the faculty and po
tentially new Alumni members.
Here are the essentials:

PLACE: Genetti's Pennsylvania Room on Lau
rel street., Hazleton, Pa.
PROGRAM: Catered dinner, speaker, dance.

The Alumni officers and the Executive
Committee meet often. In addition to our
officers, President, Charles Schultz; First
Vice-President, Henry Giuliani; Second Vice-
President, John Benner; Treasurer, George
Hayden; and Secretary, Betty Harlor, the
members of the Executive Committee are the
following:
Lawrence Martini, Dominic Landro, Jim Meiss
John Belas, William Kahler, Joseph Klesh,
Leslie Bogert, and Edwina Roland, represen
ting the Med. Tech.
Faculty Advisors for the Alumni Advisors
are the following:
Frederick Esher, Willaim Schneider, Fraank
Defina, Thomas Kidd, and Andrew Kafka, Fac
ulty chairman.
Thirteen members of the Inter-Collegiate
Conference on Government attended a conven
tion at Harrisburg on April 13, 14, and 15th.
The purpose of the organization is to foster
an interest in governmental activities. The
convention was in the form of a Model State
Legislature and was attended by students
throughout the state from schools having
I. C. G. chapters.
At the convention bills were presented to
the group and debated. A speaker and clerk
were elected by the delegates
At a recent meeting of I.C.G...temporary
officers were elected for the Fall term.
They are: Chairman, Paul Mille?; Secretary,
Lois Lombardo. Advisors to the organization
are Mr. Kidd and Mr. Amidon.
