The lunchtime presen tation, held in the Wintergarden of the Reed Union Building at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, is free and open to the public. Standing in a semi-circle to communicate, self-directed Cantus strives to create unique a cappella choral performances. The ensemble features ten singers Brian Arreola, Bradley Erbes, Michael Hanawalt, Albert Jordan and Peter Zvanovec as tenors; Kelvin Chan and Adam Reinwald as baritones; and Alan Dunbar, Erick Lichte, and Tim Takach as basses. Cantus was formed in 1995 at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., by a group of friends who shared a passion for singing. The group evolved into a professional vocal chamber ensemble with a very distinct mission. Its members educate and encourage all people to sing through nontraditional musical selec tions. In September, 2002, Cantus released its latest recording titled "...against the dying of the light." In addition to recordings and performances, Cantus mem bers work as clinicians with students ranging from elementary school to college to promote the artistic approach to choral singing. All of the musical groups incorporate an educational program with audience interaction into their performances, and each ensemble also performs at Diehl School, Penn State Behrend's Adopt-a-School partner. Guests are encouraged to bring a brown-bag lunch to enjoy the informality of this noontime event. - 12 p.m.- IVCF Prayer Mtg, Reed 113 - 2 p.m.- MCC Mtg, Reed 112 2:30 p.m.- Campus Ministry Women' Group, Smith Chapel - 4 p.m.- ISO Mtg, Reed 113 6 p.m.- Beta Beta Beta Mtg, Reed 112 6:30 p.m.- Alpha Sigma Tau Mtg, Reed 113 6:30 p.m.- Drugs, Sex, and Rock' n Roll, McGarvey Commons 7 p.m.- International Film Series "Battle of Algiers," Reed 117 B'l Friday 12 p.m.- Psychic Fair, McGarvey Commons 9 p.m.- Association of Black Colle gians Halloween Party, McGarvey Commons 10 p.m.- Movie: "Pirates of the Caribbean," Reed 117 A Closer Look •••••••••••••• • • • • • • • • • • • • • The Behrend Beacon Monday Happy Halloween!
