The MLK Jr. Celebration continues into Monday, January 21 with an
Annual Family Breakfast for students, faculty and staff from 7:15 a.m to 8
a.m. Faculty and staff are encouraged to bring a student to the break
fast; likewise, students are also encouraged to bring a faculty or staff
member with them. Reservations must be made by Wednesday, Janu
ary 16 at the Office of Student Affairs (115 Reed) or by calling x6lll.
The Annual Celebration Program, titled "Celebrating King's Legacy
through the Arts," begins at 4 p.m. on January 21 in Erie Hall. Classes
are encouraged to attend the program, consisting of performances by
two dance troupes from the Cleveland School of the Arts. A candelight
vigil will follow the program. This program is free and open to the public
UNIVERSITY FACULTY SENATE REPRESENTATIVE
SGA is currently taking nominations for position of University Faculty Sen
ate Representative for the 2002-2003 school year. Interested persons
should contact SGA at x 6220 or attend either the January 16 or January
23 SGA meeting at 5:20 p.m. in Reed 114. Deadlines for applications is
January 23. Informational fliers are available at the RUB desk.
A parking forum will also be hosted by SGA on January 23 at 7:30 p.m. in
Reed 117. Students are asked to express opinions and suggestions about
the current parking situation. Students can also contact SGA at x 6220
with any additional ideas.

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. 2002 CELEBRATION
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration is sponsored by the Office of
Educational Equity Programs, with funding from the Student Activity
Fee and the Mary Behrend Cultural Fund. The celebration begins on
Tuesday with first and second grade students visiting Behrend to par
ticipate in a variety of activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Reed
Union Building. At 7 p.m., The Rt. Rev. Vashti Murphy McKenzie will
be guest speaking at the convocation and the Mass Choir of St James
A.M.E. Church will also be present. The day's activities are free of
charge and open to the public.
The Behrend Winter Olympics will be held January 18 and 19
Each team will have five members (teams can be coed) to compete
with. Several events will occur in which teams have a chance to win
medals. The top team wins first prize, while the top three teams will
receive prizes. Events take place indoors and outdoors.
The Planet 93.9 will broadcast the Olympic events. Free food will be
available, and students are encouraged to make donations to THON,
which helps raise money for children with cancer. All proceeds will

to answer questions about declaring a major. These meetings are
open to all students. On Thursday, the noon meeting will be held
specifically for commuting students in Reed 114; the 8:45 p.m. meet
ing on Friday will be held for athletes at The Junker Center.
