FRIDAY, MARCH 23, 2001 Tennis team smashes Pitt-Greensburg by Jeanine Noce assistant sports editor It all came down to the last match when the Behrend men’s tennis team slipped past their first AMCC opponent to record their first win of the season. On March 16, Penn State Behrend’s men’s tennis team defeated Pitt- Greensburg. The match was held at Pitt-Greensburg in Greensburg, Pennsylvania at 1:00 p.m. Dave Cooper commented, “it was very close, a doubles team won match for them in a dramatic fashion. Dave Cooper, Matt Sudak and Atif Chaudry were the three Behrend members who defeated their opponents. Cooper competed against Pitt-Greensburg’s Jon Germock and won with a score of 6- 3, 6-3. Sudak defeated Pitt- Greensburg’s Brian McNamara with a score of 6-0, 6-1. Chaudry also defeated Pitt-Greensburg’s Tom Janicki with a score of 6-3, 6-3. Three doubles matches were also played.
